Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the founders of Google, Wikipedia’s founder Jimmy Wales, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, and Will Wright, video game pioneer and creator of PC’s best-selling game series ‘The Sims,” are all some of today’s Montessori alumni at the top of modern technology and innovation. There is an undeniable trend. This creative, outside-of-the-box thinking also contributed in shaping Beyoncé Knowles, Taylor Swift, actors George Clooney, Anne Hathaway, and world renowned cook Julia Child. In her book Julia Child and Company, Julia writes that Montessori was responsible for instilling a love of working with her hands. Some of the children in the political sphere such as Prince’s William and Harry, Chelsea Clinton and Jacqueline Kennedy all had a Montessori education. Several of the world’s greatest inventors supported a Montessori education too. These pioneers included Tomas Edison, Henry Ford and Alexander Graham Bell. There is undeniable evidence that Montessori educated students have an edge over their peers who attend non-Montessori schools. Ultimately, it is the parent’s job to do the research to find out which school is best for their child.
